Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Blue Nest stores the information your household adds — calendar events, tasks, bills, photos, documents, and everything else you enter — in your private family workspace, hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure in the United States. Your data is only visible to members of your household and is never sold or used for advertising.

Sign-in and account data

Authentication is provided by Clerk. We store your email address and display name to identify your account and household membership.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe (web), Google Play Billing (Android), and the Apple App Store (iOS). Blue Nest never sees or stores your card numbers. To confirm a subscription we send the store a purchase token or transaction identifier, and for web checkout we send Stripe your email address and the plan you selected.

Who else receives your data

Blue Nest uses a small number of service providers to make specific features work. Each one receives only what that feature needs, and only when you use it. We do not sell data to any of them.

Smart features and AI

Family+ includes optional AI-assisted features. When you use one, the relevant text is sent to OpenAI to be processed and returned. It is not used to train models, and Blue Nest does not log the text you send. Specifically:

If your household never uses these features, nothing is ever sent to OpenAI.

Optional device permissions

No ads, no third-party tracking

Blue Nest contains no advertising and no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

Diagnostics and product usage

We keep our own small record of crashes and a fixed list of product milestones so we can fix problems and understand which features get used. This is stored on our own infrastructure — not sent to an analytics company — but you should know it is linked to your account, not anonymous:

Both are deleted with your account. If you would like them removed sooner, email us.

Children and family members under 18

Blue Nest is designed to be used by a household, and households include children. A parent or head of household chooses what to add and who can see it. Depending on how you use the app, the information you enter about a child may include their name, birthday, photos, school items, chores, health or medication records, and — if you deliberately turn on Live Family Locations for their device — their location.

A few things we think parents should know:

Blue Nest is intended for adults to set up and manage on behalf of their family. If you believe a child has created an account without a parent's involvement, email us and we will remove it.

Your data, your control

You can delete your account and all household data at any time from Settings → Account, in the mobile app or on the web. Deleting the last account in a household permanently removes the household's records and uploaded files. You can also export your data from Settings → Data & Backup before you go.
